Project Description:
Originally known as the East Core Precinct, this masterplan—carried through to construction engagement—focuses on strengthening the connection between the carpark arrival and the main garden. With the new Conservatory by CHROFI set to significantly increase visitation, the brief called for a rationalised yet elevated landscape response.
The design prioritises the retention of several significant Eucalyptus viminalis (manna gums), while refining the surrounding edge conditions to create a clearer and more legible arrival sequence.
Planting draws on expressions of the Monaro grasslands, interwoven with alpine flowering perennials such as Craspedia adenophora, offering seasonal interest and moments of intrigue for visitors.
