Anderson Street Transformation Project
Anderson Street Transformation Project

Typology: Streetscape, Urban Greening, Active Transport
Country: Cammeragal
Client: Willoughby City Council
Project Description:

The Anderson Street Transformation reimagines a key urban corridor in the heart of Chatswood as a people-first, climate-responsive public space. Working in close alignment with council strategies for walkability, urban greening, and civic vibrancy, the project balances movement and place by calming traffic, widening footpaths, and introducing layered planting systems that enhance comfort and ecological value.

Custom furnishings, integrated lighting, and adaptable spaces support everyday use as well as pop-up events, encouraging activation throughout the day and evening. The design draws on local identity and materiality, stitching the street more confidently into the surrounding public domain network, including the future connection to The Concourse and rail station.

Studio Georgouras led the public domain strategy and concept design, working collaboratively with transport planners, council stakeholders, and community representatives to ensure a resilient and enduring streetscape outcome.
